    Cold feet with barefoot shoes?

    It is a question we often hear: Will I not have cold feet with barefoot shoes? However, the answer to this is not so simple. After all, it can go both ways:

    • Because barefoot shoes require your foot muscles to work more actively, blood flow to your feet is much better. As a result, some people will have warmer feet than with classic shoes.
    • On the other hand, the sole of a barefoot shoe is obviously much thinner. This obviously has an impact in colder conditions.

    Solutions against cold feet

    • Barefoot winter shoes: there are also specific winter versions within barefoot shoes. These are generally shoes with a woollen, felt or flannel lining. This lining will keep your feet nice and warm. Note: this lining often affects the size of your shoes!
    • Of course, it is not always necessary to wear a real winter shoe. There are also a whole host of (semi-)high models that you can wear in winter with thicker socks and just keep wearing them in spring or autumn.
