Injinji winter socks

9. Injinji Liner Crew

Since early 2017, the Injinji Liners have been available in the BeNeLux. These ultra-thin socks are not thick winter socks in themselves, but they are the ideal base layer for the winter . You wear a liner as the first protective layer. This toe sock will therefore draw moisture away from your feet and prevent skin-to-skin contact between the toes, thus preventing blisters. The liners are available in two models: the Injinji Liner Crew Coomax and the Injinji Liner Crew Nuwool . Thanks to the merino wool, you can of course also use the latter as your only layer. Do you want to wear a second sock on top for warmth? Then immediately opt for our number 2 in this overview: the Injinji Liner + Hiker combination.

8. Injinji Run Lightweight No-Show NüWool

At 8 we find the Injinji Run Lightweight No-Show NüWool . This sock is the ideal sock for the doubters among us. Because this ankle model is of course quite short for the winter, although you can easily solve this with longer pants that reach the ankles. Moreover, this sock is still part of the Injinji Lightweight collection , making this toe sock (together with the liners) the thinnest sock in the top 9. But on the other hand, the Injinji Run Lightweight No-Show NüWool contains merino wool (yes, the name was indeed a giveaway). And merino wool is the finest type of wool that exists. Merino wool is so fine that it does not itch. Moreover, it has the property that it can draw a lot of moisture from the feet, without feeling clammy. This allows merino wool to keep your feet warm in cold conditions, but this sock will also keep your feet fresh in warmer conditions.

The Injinji Run Lightweight No-Show NüWool is the ideal sock for runners who want slightly warmer feet in winter, but want to avoid overheating at all times.

7. Injinji Trail Midweight Crew

The name speaks for itself. The Injinji Trail Midweight Crew is a high trail sock. This sock comes from the Midweight collection , the thickest series of Injinji toe socks. The Midweight series provide a sturdy, thickened heel and bottom for extra strength, protection and comfort . The Coolmax Xtralife fibers keep your feet dry and comfortable and retain their strength even after several washes.

In the fall of 2017, the Injinji trail series got a serious update. In addition to the 'boring' gray, there are now different colored models and women's models were also introduced.

6. Injinji Ultra Run Crew

The Injinji Ultra Run Crew looks a bit like the Trail Series. However, this sock differs in two areas:

  • firstly, the Ultra Run Series is thickened (terry cloth) over the entire sole of the foot (heel, arch & toes), with the Trail Series only the heel and arch are thickened
  • and secondly, the Ultra Run Series has a slight compression. This does not make the sock a compression sock, but you can clearly feel a difference with the Trail Series

The Ultra Run Crew is available in both unisex and women's models.

5. Injinji Trail Midweight Mini Crew

The Injinji Trail Midweight Mini-Crew is very similar to the Trail Midweight crew. This toe sock consists of exactly the same composition and is available in the same color. How does this sock differ? The Injinji Trail Midweight Mini-crew comes to just above the ankle. In addition, the ankle part of this sock consists of a double cuff. This makes this sock fit extra firmly on your ankle . This ensures that dirt has much less chance of creeping into your socks during your trail run.

Because this model is slightly shorter, many runners find it more comfortable to combine with long running tights than its lower 'big brother'.

4. Injinji Outdoor Midweight Mini Crew

The top 4 Injinji socks for winter are all from the NüWool series . The Injinji Outdoor Midweight Mini-crew reaches above the ankle and is not only popular with hikers, but also with trail runners. This toe sock combines the thickness and strength of the Midweight Series, with the excellent insulating properties of the NüWool series.

3. Injinji Outdoor Midweight Crew

Are you going on a (multi-day) trek? Then this high Injinji toe sock is a must. This versatile merino wool hiking sock is suitable for both high and low hiking boots.

2. Injinji Liner + Hiker

The Liner+Hiker combination was the biggest innovation at Injinji in 2017. After the Injinji Liners came onto the market earlier this year, they now introduce the ideal sock to wear over this liner.

The Liner+Hiker combination consists of a Coolmax Liner and a NüWool (merino wool) outer sock. This outer sock is not a toe sock (so no separate toes) but was anatomically shaped.

1. Injinji Snow

The primus in this top 9 is the Injinji Snow . This high Injinji knee sock with merino wool was specially made to wear in winter conditions.

Please note: we made this top 9 based on people who are on the move? Are you looking for socks to stand still in? Then the thicker Liner/Hiker combination is probably a better choice.

Finally, an honorable mention goes to the Injinji Compression Socks . These socks are not particularly thick, but they do reach just below the knee. This means they can also provide extra warmth for people who prefer thinner socks.
